CW Home Depot Hosts Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers – East Metro Manila Chapter Technical Seminars

The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers – East Metro Manila Chapter (PICE – EMMC) once again collaborated with CW Home Depot by CW Group in the recently concluded Technical Seminars on the emerging issues of the thriving construction industry. The whole day affair comprised of a four part seminar and was held at CW Home Depot – Ortigas branch.

Among the key topics discussed were The Situation of Flooding in Metro Manila and Surrounding Areas, Updates on the National Structural Code of the Philippines, IAEA SITING Guidelines for Nuclear Power Plants and Application of Special Engineering Techniques and Construction Procedures in Viaduct Construction.

Conducted by key notable people from the industry like Eng. Patrick B. Gatan of Department of Public Works and Highways, Engr. Ronaldo S. Ison of R.S. Ison & Associates, Environmental Geologist Dr. Ramon D. Quebral, and DMCI Senior Manager for Project Operations Engr. Dwight Taala, the seminar was attended by close to a hundred chapter members, civil engineering students and industry friends of PICE-EMMC. Also present during the event were PICE – EMMC president Eng. Samson C. Lazo, Vice President Eng. Estelita Y. Gutierrez and immediate past president, CW Home Depot’s patriarch, Eng. Napoleon Co.

This was the second time this year that CW Home Depot hosted an affair for PICE-EMMC siince the last quarter of 2010.
