CW HOME DEPOT SUPPORTS UP DILIMAN- BSID’S PROJECT PANGKO

CW Home Depot, one of the leading retail stores of quality building, finishing, and furnishing materials in the country, has recently cemented its support to the University of the Philippines Diliman - Bachelor of Science in Interior Design (BSID) Class of 2024 with its Project Pangkó: Carrying Hope Through Enriched Spaces.

Each year, the graduating class of UP- BSID is set to carry out a service-learning project wherein the interior design students are tasked to renovate spaces that will help a beneficiary community. Currently on its 20th year since its inauguration, the ID Batch 179 class was set to revitalize hospital interiors through its project- Pangkó.

Project Pangkó which means “carried in one's arms” aims to enhance the interiors of the government-owned and controlled corporation affiliated with the Department of Health that is a 200-bed tertiary hospital, the Philippine Children's Medical Center, located in Quezon City.  With the guidance of the faculty-in-charge – Asst. Prof. Joseph Taluban, the said project was jointly carried out by 7 graduating students of UP Diliman’s BSID Class of 2024 as they were able to design the interiors of the new Pediatric Brain and Spine Center of the said beneficiary hospital.

Present during the official project turnover ceremony held last January 29, 2024 was CW Home Depot’s corporate communications and events manager (7th from left)- Ms. Ana Flores- Bermudez to receive the plaque of appreciation as one of Project Pangkó sponsors.
